July, the half way point of 2009. And 2009 has been like no other year we’ve had in quite some time.
As a newish First Weber Realtor in Wisconsin Rapids its been an interesting ride. One major issue has been finding business as the housing economy has suffered greatly. But as a Realtor I need people to buy and sell homes so I can make a living. So as housing has suffered so have I.
And one obvious tactic used by real estate agents far and wide to boost business is to put a positive spin on the housing crisis. No doubt you’ve heard this before: “There’s never been a better time to buy a home.” But that was always confusing to me. ‘Never a better time?’ Really?
I never felt comfortable approaching it this way. Instead I chose to focus on educating Wisconsin Rapids home buyers and sellers with the goal of helping them (you) make an informed decision about if or when they should enter the real estate market.
Anyway, back to the title of this post. Predictions. Everyone makes them. On TV or in magazines it makes for good ratings. The sky is falling. The world will end. You get the point. It makes us tune in or to impulsively buy the newest magazine edition as we wait in line at Copps…
